Voici ce que j'ai découvert, et ce que j'aurais aimé qu'on me dise il y a 3 bracelets.
Ces 18 derniers mois, j'ai usé 3 bracelets de montre sur le chantier. Une Garmin Fenix 7 (le bracelet s'est déchiré sur un fer à béton), une Casio Pro Trek (le bracelet en résine a cassé dans le froid) et le bracelet en silicone bon marché que j'ai essayé en dépannage et qui a tenu environ 6 semaines. En tout, j'ai dépensé environ 1 300 € en montres et bracelets de rechange qui ont fini dans un tiroir.
Elles sont toutes dans un tiroir.
La moins chère que j'ai essayée, le Gard Pro Ultra 3 à 119,99 €, est toujours à mon poignet. Même bracelet. Même montre. Voici exactement ce qui a fait la différence.
Le bracelet de l'Ultra 3 est en silicone renforcé avec une boucle à ardillon métallique. 7 mois plus tard, pas la moindre déchirure.
Je l'ai accroché à des crochets d'échafaudage, traîné dans du béton frais et rincé sous le robinet en fin de journée. Il a toujours l'air d'être sorti de la boîte. Et s'il finit par lâcher, GardCare+ couvre le remplacement du bracelet.
Chaque montre 'baroudeuse' prétend être 'robuste'. La plupart n'ont été testées contre rien de précis. Ils collent juste le mot sur la boîte.
L'Ultra 3 est certifié MIL-STD-810H, le même protocole de test que l'armée américaine utilise pour son matériel de terrain. 29 tests de robustesse distincts : chutes, chocs, vibrations, poussière, humidité, températures négatives, brouillard salin, tout y passe. C'est la seule spec sur la boîte qui veut dire quelque chose sur un chantier.
Ma Garmin était à 20 % mercredi midi. La moitié de la semaine j'oubliais de la charger et elle s'éteignait carrément à mon poignet.
L'Ultra 3 tient plus d'une semaine sur une seule charge en usage normal. Jusqu'à 90 jours en mode économie d'énergie. Je le pose sur le chargeur le dimanche matin en prenant un café. Je n'y pense plus du reste de la semaine.
Sur un chantier, je n'ai pas besoin de 47 applis. J'ai besoin de l'heure, de la date, d'un chronomètre quand je minute une coulée de béton, des appels depuis le poignet quand mon téléphone est au fond de la camionnette, et d'un relevé de fréquence cardiaque quand je monte et descends l'échelle toute la journée.
L'Ultra 3 fait tout ça, plus le SpO₂, le sommeil et le stress. Aucun diagnostic médical, juste un suivi quotidien de ce qui se passe. Le GPS double bande est aussi un joli bonus, j'ai suivi une randonnée le week-end et c'était aussi précis que mon ancienne Garmin.
Je ne suis pas du genre appli. Ma dernière configuration a pris une demi-heure et j'ai quand même fini par chercher sur Google pourquoi mes notifications n'arrivaient pas.
Télécharge l'appli GARD PRO FIT, scanne le QR code, réponds à quelques questions rapides, c'est fait. Pas d'abonnement, pas d'upsell Premium. Les notifications sont arrivées tout de suite. Ma fréquence cardiaque était suivie avant même que je sorte de la cuisine.
Une montre connectée à 120 €, je me disais que si quelque chose tournait mal, je serais seul. Envoyer un mail dans le vide et ne jamais avoir de réponse.
J'ai envoyé un message un dimanche après-midi. Réponse en moins d'une heure. Un vrai humain, une vraie réponse. Trustpilot leur donne 4,4 étoiles avec plus de 8 000 avis. J'ai vérifié.
Écoute, j'ai eu une Fenix 7. C'était une super montre. Jusqu'à ce que le bracelet lâche et que je réalise que j'avais dépensé 699 € pour un truc qui, au final, avait une faiblesse de bracelet comme tout le reste.
Spec pour spec sur ce qui compte vraiment sur un chantier, l'Ultra 3 tient largement la route. Même classe de batterie. Même GPS. Même indice de robustesse. Une fraction du prix.

Without a doubt a great smart watch. Thought it might get some interference from the work I do. Handling machinery with high hand vibration. No interference whatsoever. Couldn’t recommend enough. Great value for money, robust, waterproof dust proof. Tradesmen dream watch.
The watch is great when comparing it to the Apple ultra top spec which I still use. The Gardpro is literally plug and play, battery life is amazing, highly recommend it for those looking for a time piece that pretty much covers everything a smart watch should. Subtle difference in the calorie measurement though, seems to tally less than the Apple does. Suppose it could be down to settings and config etc… either way great product. Need more watch faces to choose from..

I bought this watch for my wife because I was so impressed with my own. My wife has several medical issues that require her to monitor her BP, heart rate and body temperature at regular intervals. She has also started trying to increase the number of steps a day to help herself. The Gardpro can do all of this and more for a very competitive price. Highly recommend.
This watch is for my teenage son and he loves it. He says it has long battery life. He checks his text messages, measures his workouts and progress, and says it fits well. Delivery took a little longer than I was expecting but that wasn't a big deal.
The watch is of a very good build quality, it looks sleek and premium. Super easy to set up and the battery (so far) is amazing as I have not had to charge it yet and it's been nearly three weeks! I would certainly recommend as I personally can't justify the prices of the 'branded' smart watches but with this one you dont need to. Loads of features and all working well. I bought a Samsung Smart watch 1st and was so disappointed with the short battery life for the price so got my money back and bought a Ultra 3 and have been amazed with the battery life. All of the functions I wanted in a smart watch work great along with the app so really pleased with the watch and would very much recommend.
